Burnout

In our burnout culture we over work, and get nowhere in particular. Our students, clients, don’t benefit from the teacher/person who does more, forces work, stays up and works all night. They benefit from the teacher, parent, and boss who leaves when work hours are contracted, and feed their souls by taking a walk, working out, meditating, journaling, catching up with friends, laughing with loved ones, playing a game, going to the beach, having fun, watching the sunset, living life. Then, and only then, that teacher, parent, boss can be more present, rejuvenated, revitalized, and able to dive into their work and passion.

They are more loving, kind, and grounded. We need to stop doing more and adding more onto our plates, unless those things bring us peace and joy. We need to cultivate a life we want to live, a life that is worth living.
